to my dear friends, especially Teacher Kurut+ Nellie..some recipes to try out. simple and yet finger licking good!

Fried Spicy Puyuh

Ingredients: (for 2-3 person)
2 whole burung puyuh (cut into half)
3 tablespoonful of cumin (jintan manis-that gemok jintan)
2 large onions
1 teaspoon of paprika/chilli powder
2-3 tablespoon of lemon/lime juice
Salt to taste
Some cilantro for ganishing
Glad plastic bag for marinating

How I did it?
Except for burung puyuh, blend everything.
Marinate for at least an hour in a refrigerator.
Deep fry with medium heat

Daging Masak Merah (my late Grandma’s signature dish)
this recipe is very suitable for busy wives and for last minute notice preparation). my best friend tried this one and yes, her MIL loved it.

Ingredients:(for 3 person)
500gm of lean beef (daging batang pinang or here in Perlis we call it ‘harimau menangis/temosiak’)
1 cup of chilli sauce (any brand but Cap Unta will be the best)
5 tablespoonful of dark soy sauce
2 shallots-finely sliced
1 garlic-finely sliced
1 inch of ginger-smashed
a dash of black pepper coarse
2 large big onions-slice roughly into rings
Some tapped water

How i did it?
1. Marinate beef, dark soy sauce, black pepper coarse and chilli sauce for about 2 hours.
2. Saute the shallots, ginger,garlic.
3. Add the marinated beef.
4. Cook on slow fire until tender
5. Add water from time to time as needed
6. Prior to serving, add the ring onions.
7. Serve with plain rice

Dipping Sauce
2 garlic
5 tablespoons of lime juice-u can use vinegar
3 red chillies-take out the seeds
2 tablespoons of brown sugar/1 tablespoon of white sugar
Salt to taste

How i did it?
1.Blend the ingredients finely
2. Serve with deep fried puyuh/chicken
